The Provenance
Our matcha comes from Kagoshima, in the far south of Japan, where volcanic soil, early southern sun, and clean mountain air produce nearly all of the country's certified-organic tea. For three weeks before harvest the gardens are draped in shade; starved of sun, the leaves flood with chlorophyll and amino acids, the source of matcha's jewel-green color and its rounded, savory sweetness.
Only the tender top leaves are picked, deveined, and slowly turned to powder between granite millstones. A single stone yields barely 40 grams an hour. Blending across cultivars and harvests is deliberate: it's how every bag tastes as smooth and consistent as the last. We finish it with natural vanilla flavor for a cup that's approachable enough for your first bowl, and nuanced enough for your thousandth.
A blend of three cultivars

Tasting Profile
Low bitterness, no chalky edge. The vanilla lifts matcha's natural sweetness while the shade-grown tencha keeps that signature creamy umami.
Caffeine
Cup for cup, matcha has roughly half the caffeine of drip coffee, for a lighter lift you whisk up in seconds.
About half a cup of drip coffee.
Roughly double matcha, in one cup.
Naturally smooth. Nothing added but natural vanilla flavor.
Caffeine is naturally occurring and varies with harvest and how you brew, so these figures are approximate. Coffee shown for comparison.
How to make it · 3 steps
The same simple steps you'll find on the pouch. No special skills required.
1 tsp of matcha.
Hot (175°) or cold. Add 8 oz water or milk of choice.
Blend, whisk, stir, or shake.
Good to know
Real stone-ground matcha is the whole tea leaf, not a soluble extract, so it won't melt away like sugar. Whisk, shake, or froth it and the fine powder stays suspended in your cup. That's the point: you're drinking the whole leaf, not a strained infusion. If a little settles while you sip, it isn't a flaw. Just swirl or shake and it comes right back.
Why Matcha
Matcha is the stone-ground tea leaf itself, whisked right into your cup, not steeped and strained away like a tea bag.
Cup for cup, matcha carries roughly half the caffeine of drip coffee, for a lighter lift you whisk up in seconds.
Organic matcha and natural vanilla flavor. No sugar, no fillers, nothing you can't pronounce.
